A Beach-Side Inspired Front Entry
June 1st rolls around and my inner beach babe comes out. (She's much tanner than I, has beach wavey, mermaid hair and salty feet always..) I decided to let that inner beach goddess come out to decorate a little. I love turning the house into a little lake side cottage during the summer. And the best part? It was all things I've had lying around in the house/garage/basement/closets. Score!
I grabbed my 2 blue mason jars and dug through my wedding vases & bottle collection that has been collecting spiders and their families since our wedding three years ago. I tried to choose blue & blue-ish green colored bottles along with some clear bottles and vases. After a good scrubbing, I scattered them along my entry way shelf..
In the widest opened small bottles, I threw a votive candle in there for some added "ambiance". But I still felt like it needed just a little more.
So then the fairy lights I had gotten in a gift a while back would be the perfect added touch!
I love my weathered wood frames and took it off my bookshelf & threw it up there as well.
And my beloved jean jacket. It's so versatile...works as decor & fashion. Win-win. ;)
I added just a few extra beachy touches here and there and my inner beach babe was very pleased! The great thing about neutrals & metals - with the right accents, they can be the perfect Farmhouse decor piece or the perfect coastal cottage piece. And since I love to try and marry the two whenever possible, they are sort of my favorite thing. :)
I'm in the process of looking for a new rug for the front entry way and have been toying around the idea of a circle rug in here. It wouldn't have to be an actual functional rug as most of our guests come through the garage door. (We aren't very formal folks around here!) I'm totally crushing on the circle outdoor rug from Target right now...and it just may end up in the front entry way. I've been waiting for a Cartwheel App sale or a gift card to slide my way to say it was just meant to be! :)
A little beach bag for easy grabbing and something tall for next to the door is next on my list to gather to finish up this area! After looking at the pictures, this area seems so much more bare than I realized! 🙄 Thanks for sliding by friends! XO.
