$100 Room Challenge | Foyer

I told myself I wasn't going to participate this month because life is just too crazy and I'm not spending any money - but after reading all my blogger friends' $100 Room Challenge Posts, I had to jump in! However, my situation is going to be just a tad bit different! Let me explain why!

First and foremost, what is the $100 Room Challenge? My friend Erin from Lemons, Lavender & Laundry created this challenge for herself to makeover one room, in one month with only $100 to spend! She opened it up to other bloggers and it completely took off! She has been on Rachel Ray and local TV station shows all about her room Challenge! I have participated twice so far and LOVE this challenge because the women who are cheering you on, it's such an amazing community!!! That's why I just had to join in! Last minute decision!! Yikes!!

So last month I told y'all I would be making over my laundry room. However, due to my contentment challenge, I'm not spending any money for the next 90 days. So I was sitting here thinking about it. During this challenge I was planning on redoing my foyer with things I already had and have been given. So hey, I'll just jump on into the challenge with the foyer!

My foyer used to look like this:

I had this table in here from HomeGoods that has been painted more times than I can count. I have serious paint commitment issues. 🙈 

But I moved that table upstairs right before Christmas and now my foyer looks a little like this:

Empty and ready to be made over!

So here is my plan:

1. Bring in church pew I inherited from my great grandma.

2. Paint or stain church pew.

3. Paint shelf going above church pew.

4. Hang shelf.

5. Paint the inside of front door black.

6. Decide if I can do something with light.

7. Decorate.

So because I'm not to be spending money, I have so much of this stuff at home that REALLY needs a home. And not to be in the basement! So I decided this could work because how many of us have so many different decor pieces could you do a little love on and make over an entire room?! Well if you're like me, you do! 

My biggest concern is the light fixture. I am a regular out at the flea market. I can wheel and deal something that would BLOW your mind. And there is quite a few people who are willing to do TRADES! So I'm thinking of taking my 2 hanging boob lights in the house (other was from bedroom!) And trying to switch for something a little better. Let's see how it goes friends! 

So with January we have 5 weeks this time! Woo hoo! So this week was just to introduce you to my foyer. Today I am bringing home that church pew and giving it a good wipe down!!
