Happy New Year From Miss Magnolia

Hey there my magnolia buds! Happy, happy new year! I love a good fresh start and looking forward to what all this year will bring!

This new year, I am starting out participating in a contentment challenge. For the next 90 days, I plan to do no unnecessary shopping. So no Target runs, no Target dollar spot, no HomeGoods, no craft stores. Nothing. Zilch. Zero. I am participating in this for so many reasons. One being that, well finances. Because trying to build us back up from holiday shopping IS necessary. Two, I need to reign myself back in on things that make me happy & that does not mean materialistic things. I think we can get so caught uo on needing to have all these things because we see these beautiful home have them and we have to keep up. Don't get me wrong here. I am most certainly a person who drools over my insta friends homes and think if only I could tap my shoes together and be over there right now... But life gives us so many blessings & I think sometimes I get so caught up in things that don't matter, I miss out on what is so great right in front of me. Just being totally honest with y'all.

But on a brighter note, those 90 days are going to five me a lot of time at home so there will be a lot of crafting things I already have on hand, cleaning out my rooms, cleaning out my junk piles rearranging furniture in the house and so forth. Plus, it'll make me have to be creative on things to do with my little guy and really strageically planning out my weeks. I see a lot of library time in our future.

This is my last year working outside of the home and next year we will be going down to one income so I can stay home with Liam. Now let me rephrase that a bit here for you - I do have a photography business that is my full-time job. But I also work part time outside of the home now because I am a financial security freak and just haven't had the guts to be full time with the home biz just yet. So I'm not counting on that money at all. So I am going to start working on budgeting this year to prepare us for what is to come. I hope to keep you all updated with that on how we do our finances and every day living with a baby. I watched my mama stay home with us for years and two kiddos so I have a lot of guidance to help me!

And before I head out for the day, you may be getting the hint that I plan to be here on the blog more often. I'm going to need an outlet for my time at home and encouragement from all my buds that I can keep sane and that yes I can do this! I hope to be blogging at least 3 times a week! (I can do it, I can do it!)

Thanks so much friends for stopping by, reading & catching up on all the latest! Talk soon! XX.
