Room Transformation: Week Two

It's week two and the guest room is coming along. From the outside looking in it probably looks as if nothing has changed, but it has friends. The plan for the space has been formulated and I began working on a DIY project with a wicker chair for the room!

As you know, last week I made the decision to keep the room painted the color it already is. And I also configured the space on how the room will flow. Too, I was putting up crown molding. But that got cut off the list when I realized that was way beyond my skill level. And if I add it in there, I'll have to add it to every bedroom. Not an expense we can take on right now. So that may be a layer in the future project.

This week is all about creating a feature wall. Now, that could mean a shiplap wall, beadboard wall, etc. I found recently a focal point I want to create on the wall I planned doing my feature wall. So technically, it's still a feature wall right?

My plan of attack is to take embroidery hoops and hang them over the bed to create almost a 'headboard' and piece of wall art. Double win! So I can cross those both off of my list! I'll gather my supplies this week and get to work and be sure to update you and share my progress pics. For right now, I'll share with you my wicker chair makeover!

It was all white before and I took a stain to it and just wiped it on. I did a messy job mainly because I wanted it to look weathered. It's still sticky and drying so I haven't taken it upstairs yet because I'm looking for a paint to seal It! So let's take a look at the budget again!

Total Budget: $100

Bed: $0

Nightstand & Dresser: $0

Wicker Chair: $0

Stain For Chair: $0 (Had from previous project!)

Balance Left: $100

Not too shabby! 😉 See you all later this week! XO.
